As an avid birder in the Essex County, Ontario region, I spend the majority of my time in the Point Pelee and Holiday Beach areas. Whatever the season and whatever the weather, I’ll be out there looking for the next rare bird. I’m active with the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory where I am a volunteer hawk counter. I’m also a hike leader for and an Executive Member of the Essex County Field Naturalists’ Club.
I got bit hard by the birding bug in 2011 and I haven’t looked back. My Essex County life list alone is over 300. I’m very familiar with all of the region’s hotspots and a few more less frequented areas as well.
